It's official: Sting will wrestle his first match in over five years at AEW Revolution 2021, teaming with Darby Allin in a street fight with Team Taz's Ricky Starks and Brian Cage.

The promotion announced it last night:-

Allin and Sting vs. Cage and Starks is the first match to be fully announced for Revolution 2021, which goes down at a to-be-determined location on 27 February. The Young Bucks defend their AEW World Tag Team Titles against whoever wins a battle royal at Beach Break on 3 February.

The Street Fight was teased heavily on this week's Dynamite. Team Taz interrupted an in-ring segment with Sting, Allin, and Tony Schiavone, seething at the WCW icon for his intervention in last week's TNT Championship match between Darby and Cage. This led to the ever-bellicose Taz defying his rivals to "take it to the streets."

After a whisper in the ear from Sting, Allin responded with "Be careful what you wish for." Now, the match is set.

At 61 years old, Sting will wrestle his first bout since suffering a serious injury while working Seth Rollins at WWE Night of Champions 2015. Whether or not this will be a cinematic match remains to be seen - but it looks likely given the veteran's physical limitations.
