Sting To WWE: 10 Ways He Could Debut At SummerSlam

7. Announced As General Manager

The role of general manager is not what it used to be back in 2002. Vince McMahon and Ric Flair began the age of general managers when they were supposedly part owners of WWE. However, 12 years later, the general manager role has run its course. So many people have been fired and hired as general manager. However, it is the addition of McMahons and The Authority that make the general manager useless. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are the authority figures in WWE right now. They make all the decisions. Many times, the general manager of Raw or Smackdown hasn't even appeared on the show. Raw doesn't even have a general manager right now. Brad Maddox was fired recently and Stephanie McMahon has threatened to fire Vickie Guerrero as well. Being announced as the new general manager of Raw at SummerSlam is the perfect opportunity for Sting. WWE hasn't mentioned hiring someone to take Maddox's place on Raw yet. Perhaps they are saving that moment for Sting. While The Authority has been making the general manager position less useful, Sting could change that. If he is truly successful, he can challenge The Authority to a point that no one has done before.
