Sting WWE Night Of Champions Update: Neck Injury Could Be Career Ender

Update on Sting's WWE Night Of Champions injury.

Sting's neck injury at WWE Night Of Champions could be a career ender. Speaking on wrestling observer radio, Dave Meltzer said "He hurt his neck, it was a pretty significant injury. It was serious and to his neck." Ominously, Meltzer then speculated that it "could be the end of his career." The WCW veteran had looked tired throughout the WWE Title match with Seth Rollins. He probably suffered the injury during the spot in which Rollins power bombed him into the ring turnbuckles. The doctor then checked on Sting, after he struggled to even stand back up in the aftermath. Rollins paused for some time, and then both men went straight to the planned finish. It was a sad sight. Sting has came to WWE and done two jobs, and now his career could be over. Ending such a legendary career in the disappointment of the Night Of Champions match would be a shame, but at age 56, coming back from any injury would be a huge challenge. One thing for sure, a match with The Undertaker looks impossible. Sting looked bad and vulnerable at Night Of Champions. If he could get fit again, WWE are unlikely to risk him in a major match with the deadman. Taker has his own physical concerns, and Sting is now probably better suited to shorter matches with younger opponents. But with the serious neck injury, it looks like the WCW Icon could be done as an active wrestler in WWE. It is a sad end to a legendary career.
