Stipulation Officially Added To WWE Tag Title Match At SummerSlam

When an ordinary referee screws up, just call on an inexperienced special guest.

The SummerSlam rematch for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship just got some anonymous outside help.

Champions the Usos will defend the Raw and SmackDown straps against the Street Profits, who lost a controversial title match at Money in the Bank that saw Montez Ford counted out despite getting his shoulder off the mat. The title bout will be the two teams' third time battling over the tag championship in less than two months.

But after that questionable finish, WWE has added a mystery special guest referee to the mix. The guest referee was hinted at on SmackDown, but it was made official Monday night.

Almost immediately, R-Truth came out on Raw to show his latest certification: a WWE referee. Truth attempted to demonstrate his abilities to count a pinfall and to count a wrestler out when they're outside the ring, but the Usos cut him off, leading to a six-man tag match involving the Profits (teaming with Truth) and Omos (teaming with Jimmy & Jey).

The Usos would love for someone like Sami Zayn to be the guest ref, while the Street Profits would need to dig around for someone in their corner. Maybe it will end up being a WWE legend or Hall-of-Famer, perhaps a former tag champ. Or maybe it'll just be Chad Gable.
