'Stone Cold' Steve Austin Reveals Fascinating Fact About WWE's Beer Truck Angle
Remember that famous WWE beer truck angle? Steve Austin just revealed all.
Your childhood was a lie.
Steve Austin has revealed, via the 'BrewBound' podcast, that WWE's iconic beer truck angle from 1999 wasn't quite what it appeared. In fact, Vince McMahon paid for "30 gallons" of alcohol to be pumped through the hose - after that, the liquid was all just water.
Nobody in the live crowd knew that though, and the ring did smell of beer due to those 30 gallons. It's fair to say that the stunt still worked, but McMahon was able to save a bit of cash by mixing the booze with water. Basically, Austin's antics were akin to being doused in the kind of watery pint you're likely to buy at a music festival.
Still cool though.
During the interview, 'Stone Cold' also said that he almost botched big time when trying to take a drink from the hose. The liquid was spraying out with such force that he nearly knocked himself over when attempting to get a camera shot of himself guzzling.
That could've ruined the moment, but Austin managed to retain his balance and look like the man by ruining The Corporation's night.
