Surprising Wrestler Turns Heel On WWE Raw

Hands up who saw this WWE Raw heel turn coming. Nobody? Thought so...

Rhea Ripley Nikki A.S.H.

Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. ended their tag team on last night's episode of Raw, but, in an unexpected twist, it was Nikki, not Ripley, who turned heel.

The break-up went down in the ring. A segment mediated by Sarah Schreiber threatened to turn sour after Ripley had said the duo going their separate ways would be for the best, countering A.S.H.'s assertion that they could become Women's Tag Team Champions again.

After some back-and-forth on the microphone, Nikki said she was a better wrestler than Ripley, but Rhea offered a handshake rather than blasting back. They hugged after Ripley said she hoped they could still be friends. Rather than pulling the expected twist, however, Rhea was knocked down by Nikki, who laid into Ripley before leaving the ring, claiming that "Almost Superheroes don't need friends!" while on the ramp.

Thus ends another Odd Couple WWE tag team that was likely only ever put together to eventually split up and feud.

Nonetheless, Ripley and A.S.H. tasted success together, holding the Women's Tag Team Championships for 63 days after taking them from Natalya and Tamina on 20 September 2021. Their run brought one successful defence before they dropped the gold to Carmella and Queen Zelina in November.
