Swerve Strickland Shoots Down Potential AEW vs. WWE Supershow (WWE News)

AEW star Swerve Strickland suggests WWE would block a fair supershow from happening.

When asked to fantasy book a dream WWE vs. AEW supershow, ex-World Champ Swerve Strickland offered: "Not in my lifetime, at least". Swerve would be interested in the concept, but he reckons there'd be more of an issue with it on WWE's side than All Elite's.

Why? "WWE has to protect their shield. There’s no way they’d allow any of our wrestlers to look better and be better [than them]". Of course, Strickland understands why WWE/TKO would view things that way, but he wouldn't be bothered if every match ended in a non-finish or double DQ situation to keep the peace.

He'd simply like the chance to mix both rosters and find out what the bouts turned out like.

"Oba Femi is a world beater. You gotta protect that and make sure he keeps looking good. Gunther, have to protect that. Roman [Reigns], have to protect that. Cody [Rhodes], have to protect, even more so because of AEW. There’s a lot of that happening", he added.

Swerve believes things would arguably be even more competitive between both women's divisions: "When it gets to the women, then that’s even tougher. Rhea [Ripley], Liv [Morgan], Chelsea [Green] all have to be protected".

He also called a match between Seth Rollins and Will Ospreay "generational". Previously, both men fired verbal shots at one another on social media, but the pair eventually smoothed things over.

Strickland pointed out that the actual wrestlers themselves get along fine - corporate tension might make a supershow impossible though. "Who has the leverage?".

Pesky realism will never stop wrestling fans from wondering 'what if?'.
