Tag Team Chamber Match Added To WWE Elimination Chamber 2020
As well as a 3 vs. 1 Intercontinental Championship clash.
In the wake of WWE basically nixing the eponymous men's match from next Sunday's Elimination Chamber, the company last night confirmed that, in its place, the SmackDown tag-team championship will be defended in the structure of random selection.
The Miz & John Morrison share gold once more, after besting The New Day at last Thursday's Super ShowDown. Any jubilation quickly turned to regret on SmackDown however, as it was announced the newly-crowned champs will have to defend their belts against five other teams next Sunday.
The quartet of tandems vying for the titles are the deposed New Day, Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party, Dolph Ziggler & Bobby Roode, and The Usos.
Elsewhere on SmackDown, we learned that Braun Strowman will defend his Intercontinental strap in a 3-on-1 handicap match, against Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, & Sami Zayn. On Friday's contract signing for a rematch between Strowman and Shinsuke, the Monster Among Men quipped he'd end up facing both of Nakamura's cohorts regardless. Zayn, sensing an opportunity, had the document amended, and the odds were promptly stacked against Braun.
He was then put through a table for his troubles.
WWE Elimination Chamber airs Sunday, 8 March.
