Having been released by WWE last month and now a free agent, Taya Valkyrie last night made her return to AAA.

Known as Franky Monet during her brief stint with the NXT brand, La Wera Loca appeared at Triplemania Regia via video package to call out AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Deonna Purrazzo.

Valkyrie has long been associated with AAA, having worked for the promotion on and off from 2012 through until 2019. A three-time Reina de Reinas Champion, the Canadian powerhouse currently holds the record for the longest reign with that title - with her initial run as Reina de Reinas Champ clocking in at a mammoth 945 days.

As for Taya Valkyrie and Deonna Purrazzo, they have a nice bit of history to play off, with Valkyrie's last match with IMPACT Wrestling seeing her come up short at January's Hard to Kill PPV when challenging for the Knockouts Title then held by Purrazzo.

Deonna was absent from Triplemania Regia due to a prior commitment, but one has to imagine she'll be coming face-to-face with Taya sooner rather than later, and possibly even on IMPACT television.

Despite being handily main roster-ready, Valkyrie was released by WWE last month, with her husband John Morrison likewise fired a couple of weeks later. Taya officially became a free agent as of yesterday.
