"Tessa Two Belts," anybody?

Tessa Blanchard appeared to reference WWE's Becky Lynch as she geared up for a match against Impact Wrestling X Division Champion Ace Austin on last night's show.

The current Impact World Champion tweeted the following before the broadcast:-

To her disappointment, Blanchard won't be able to use that nickname anytime soon: she ended up defeating Austin but it was by disqualification when Taya Valkyrie attacked her for the finish, then beat Tessa down as the show went off the air. Valkyrie vs. Blanchard is Impact's next World Title programme.

Recent months have seen Blanchard become a figure of considerable controversy in pro-wrestling. She became the subject of an alleged racism scandal prior to her Hard to Kill pay-per-view headlining tilt as stories of an old altercation with Puerto Rican wrestler La Rosa Negra reared their head, with the NWA's Allysin Kay the whistleblower. Blanchard strongly denied the claims, though several other wrestlers supported Kay's allegations, including WWE's Chelsea Green.

Blanchard would then defeat Sami Callihan to become the first woman to ever hold the Impact World Championship. For now, hoever, she'll have to settle with being Tessa One Belt.
