An image of former Impact Wrestling World Champion Tessa Blanchard has been found in the new WWE 2K Battlegrounds videogame.

Popular YouTube channel newLEGACYinc made the discovery yesterday, with Twitter user @TigerDriver9X posting the following side-by-side comparison shortly after:-

Looking at the images, it is beyond dispute that the character in the lower right corner of the 2K Battlegrounds screenshot is a direct rip of this specific image of Blanchard, which was snapped shortly after she'd won the Impact World Title at this year's Hard to Kill pay-per-view.

Basil Mahmud, the photographer, has tweeted the following in response:-

Here's hoping the development team is able to patch Blanchard out of the game. This is a major, major blunder, and not just from the copyright standpoint, as Tessa has never been under contract with WWE at any point in her career yet her image is now found in the company's new game.

Blanchard is currently a free agent after leaving Impact as World Champion in June. She returned to face Kylie Rae for Warrior Wrestling last week, though her future is still up in the air after a chaotic 2020 that has brought multiple scandals.
