Daga has been released from Impact Wrestling.

The 32-year-old, who is engaged-to-be-married to former World Champion Tessa Blanchard, had asked for his release a while ago, only for the promotion to delay any action out of hope that he might sign a new deal with them. This is according to Wrestling Inc.'s Nick Hausman, who writes that Daga's release was finally granted on Tuesday.

Daga had been with Impact since February 2019. He balanced working for the promotion with stints in his native Mexico and elsewhere, though he played a regular televised role until the onset of the global health crisis this March, with his last Impact bout going down on the 7th of that month. He hasn't appeared since then.

His partner, Blanchard, was released from Impact under controversial circumstances this June. It was reported that the then-World Champion had failed to submit requested video content while quarantining in Mexico. Impact made the move to let her go ahead of a scheduled World Title defence at the Slammiversary pay-per-view, fearful that she would no-show. Tessa has since returned to the ring with Warrior Wrestling but is yet to sign anywhere.
