Edge's 'Last Man Standing' match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36 will be the first time fans have clapped eyes on his in-ring work for nine long years. Despite already filming the bout at WWE's Performance Center, the Canadian will no-doubt be emotional when he sees fan response to his comeback on social media over the weekend.

When did Edge realise he could wrestle again? That's the question.

According to his interview with ESPN, it happened when the 'Rated-R Superstar' was on a mountain-biking trip with some friends. He violently tumbled over his handlebars and wiped out when attempting a "stupid, competitive" jump.

As he skidded along the ground, it suddenly struck Edge that he'd just taken a bump. What's more, he'd taken one at approx 20mph, and his neck felt fine. If his body could handle that, then it could surely handle the rigours of the wrestling ring, right?

Right.

Afterwards, Edge met up with Sheamus to film some of the Irishman's 'Celtic Warrior Workouts', and he began exploring the possibility of a WWE return. That may never have happened without the biking accident.
