'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt To Challenge WWE Universal Champion At Hell In A Cell 2019

The rumours were true: Wyatt wants the gold.

Last week saw Sacramento, California's Golden1 Center reveal that Bray Wyatt, as 'The Fiend', would challenge for the WWE Universal Championship when the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view hits the arena on 6 October.

While the usual "card is subject to change" disclaimer applied, Wyatt confirmed the story himself during a Firefly Fun House segment on last night's Raw.

After apologising for 'The Fiend' being "super, super rude" to Finn Balor at SummerSlam, Wyatt reacted to his Vince McMahon puppet questioning why Bray was challenging Braun Strowman or Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell by stuffing money in his mouth. Dollar signs then appeared in Vince's eyes as Wyatt's sowed seeds of dissent, questioning Strowman and Rollins' chemistry as a team.

So it looks like we're definitely getting a 'Fiend' Universal Title match at Hell in a Cell, for better or worse, and it'll be interesting to see who he ends up facing, with his targets set to collide at Clash of Champions.

Could 'The Fiend' make his presence felt at next week's pay-per-view? We'll find out soon enough, though last week brought news that Wyatt is booked for every episode of Raw through 25 October.
