The Headbangers Return For Next Week's WWE SmackDown
Mosh and Thrasher are getting another shot.
We're living in strange times. James Ellsworth has gone 2-0 against A.J. Styles, two members of The Spirit Squad have returned to WWE, and now, The Headbangers are getting another match on SmackDown.
We last saw them on the 30. Aug episode of the show, when they came up short against Rhyno and Heath Slater in the tag team tournament. Now they're about to get their shot to represent Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.
Both Mosh and Thrasher have taken to Twitter to reveal their impending return:
Now, obviously this is cool for The Headbangers. If they put on a strong showing they can potentially put in more work with the company, or at least raise their indy appearance fee. It's also fun to see returning faces from the past show up for a night. It gives the product a "never know what's going to happen feel." But you have to assume Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon are kind of idiots.
To put forth their best effort against Raw, the authority figures are bringing in two guys who aren't even on the brand, who have only had one televised match in the past 16 years (a match they lost) and are letting them compete on their brand to battle Raw for tag team superiority? What if they win by a fluke?
Well, perhaps they didn't think that through. Or perhaps they forgot to call up Rene Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki, they at least held the SmackDown tag belts more recently than The Headbangers!
Best of luck to Mosh and Thrash, though!
