The Internet Is Going NUTS Over This Spanish Wrestling Match

A Kid Moonsault
White Wolf Wrestling

The finish itself is incredible. Sabre is on his last legs. Kid is finally in a position to put him down—but not before Sabre recovers to cave his chest in with a pair of squelching Penalty Kicks. Kid in response scrapes Sabre’s face off with a Superkick. After a top rope Spanish Fly, one of very few high spots in a match restrained in its shoot-style realism, Kid picks up the win—and, you have to expect, a spate of international bookings.

This pulsating, massively dramatic spectacle was almost annoying. Here is yet another pro wrestling company offering amazing action you are now compelled to keep track of. Your other hobbies can wait.

This wasn’t just a magical pro wrestling match, in and of itself: the mere fact that it exists means, theoretically, that there’s an amazing wrestling company in Italy, or Africa, waiting to be discovered. That’s not mere theory. Will Ospreay raves about the scene in Australia, in which he has starred over the last two years. Ospreay himself has in part elevated Ireland’s OTT Wrestling to international recognition through incredible battles with Matt Riddle and WALTER.

This match took place on April 14, 2018. It was uploaded to YouTube on August 6, 2018, months before it became a (modest) viral hit. Its brilliance was lurking in plain sight, and there’s a message lurking alongside it.

Great wrestling is everywhere in 2018. The only barrier left to break is your perception.
