The Latest WWE Legends Signee Is...The Necro Butcher?! (WWE News)
Ultra-violent independent deathmatch worker Necro Butcher signs on the dotted line with WWE.
This is not a drill.
Super-violent independent deathmatch great Necro Butcher claimed via his own Facebook page that he'd recently inked a legends deal with WWE. In theory, that sounded absolutely ridiculous. What would the biggest promotion in the world want with a 53 year old hardcore warrior who has always been the walking, talking, brawling antithesis of everything they stand for?
Necro even included a quick screenshot of his deal to show that it was legit, but people were still doubtful. Now, PWInsider has popped up to validate Butcher's claim by calling it "100% accurate". He has signed on the dotted line with WWE, and it was Nick Khan who "spearheaded" the whole thing; previously, Khan had been "responsible for the company signing a deal with New Jack's estate a few years back" too.
File this under news stories you never thought you'd read in 2026, but it's entirely legitimate.
In his Facebook post, Dylan 'Necro Butcher' Summers said the following:
"I have signed a basic legends deal with the WWE. The offer actually came in the day after I walked out of my job. The timing was ridiculous. Now, the door is open for various projects, which have already been discussed. But I’m taking things slow. What does this say about my career? A man who never worked there, but he worked hard everywhere he went. And still will. I will NOT miss my scheduled shows and most definitely will NOT be making any apology videos or speeches. I’ve worked hard, both for myself and for my fans. Nothing was more important to me than credibility and believability. I hope this leads to more opportunities for guys who never got that call to the big time. This is OUR reward. Let’s enjoy this together".
Butcher's infamous independent match vs. Samoa Joe from 2005 was recently featured on VICE's 'Dark Side Of The Ring' series. It remains to be seen exactly what this legends deal with WWE will include.
