The Real Reason Aleister Black Isn't Wrestling In WWE At The Moment

Black STILL wants someone to "pick a fight" with him.

It has been a long time since Aleister Black last wrestled a meaningful match on WWE programming, with his 16 July SmackDown victory over Cesaro his last outing in anything that wasn't a one-sided squash. In addition, the former Tommy End has been out of action entirely since 21 October, without a single Raw or live event bout on his record.

This hasn't stopped Black from indulging his trademark darkened room segments, begging the Raw roster to come and "picK a fighT" with him. It looks like he could be missing from the squared circle for a while longer, however.

Per Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Black's in-ring absence can be explained by a knee injury, though WWE have kept airing his spooky promos as they didn't want to take him off television. They want to keep him relevant while he can't compete.

Main roster fans have only seen snippets of what Black can do between the ropes thus far, and that's a shame, particularly as the "pick a fight" stuff hit the point of diminishing return months ago. Here's hoping Aleister mounts a swift recovery.
