Are you ready for some football?

The Rock has revealed exactly when the revamped (again) XFL will return to action.

He tweeted that the league is aiming for a "Spring 2022" relaunch, and also said that the XFL would be a place for "culture, passion and purpose". In the same tweet, Rocky admitted that the project has been an "uphill battle", but said "we’re hungry, humble and no one will outwork us".

Good to know.

WWE's second try at producing an NFL alternative earlier this year fell by the wayside quickly, but the actual gridiron play on offer was better than most expected. Had the league not pulled the plug amidst growing concerns over the pandemic and financial strain, then there's a solid chance the XFL would've settled into a groove.

That's all conjecture and wishful thinking from a football fan though, so who knows.

The Rock seems passionate about the XFL and wants it to be a smash hit. Announcing a comeback for 2022 should give him and other officials necessary time to sort things out and give the league a fighting chance.

Are you still interested in the XFL? Or, do you think it's a poisoned chalice for The Rock and his associates?
