The Rock Talking To WWE About WrestleMania 32

The Rock is doing a lot of media appearance these days for his upcoming action movie San Andreas, so it's not a surprise when he gets asked about wrestling for WWE again. He did an interview with Sports Illustrated where he didn't come out and openly say he was going to be wrestling at WresteMania 32, but he did address it. He said he's constantly in contact with Vince McMahon and Triple H. Here's how he summed it up.

"The platform is there. You have Dallas and could set an attendance record, so that€™s the first goal. And then what is the match that allows us to do that? I€™ve had incredible matches with Triple H, so I€™m not ruling it out, but I€™m not saying it is going to happen. We continue to talk about it, and we€™re still shooting each other text messages. He sent me a message from Dallas that said, €˜This could be us. The record is ours.€™ So we€™ll see.€

If that sounds like a guy that is open to wrestling at WrestleMania 32 that's because he probably is. The angle was set up at WrestleMania 31 when he confronted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Ronda Rousey showed up to help him too. While Rousey's in-ring involvement at WM32 seems unlikely at this point, it's definitely possible that she could be in The Rock's corner for a match against Triple H while Stephanie is there to support Hunter. They could still do the spot where Ronda puts Stephanie in the armbar outside the ring or after the match. It would be a shock if The Rock wasn't in the ring at WrestleMania 32. That all time attendance record has to be very appealing for any wrestler and especially for one of the biggest movie stars in the world. The Rock is 43 years old and it's not like he will be able to have great matches in five years or more. The timing is perfect to have one more big match with his good friend (as well as long time on screen rival) Triple H. If he wants that match then the opportunity is there and nobody is going to stop them from doing it. It sounds like he's optimistic. As for Roman Reigns getting booed at the Royal Rumble when The Rock was there, he said he wasn't surprised by the reaction because it's Philly. He also gave Reigns some advice: €œThe only advice I gave Roman was that you just need to stay the course. It€™s a unique dynamic and relationship that you have with the fans in wrestling. They€™re passionate, just like you€™re passionate, but they know it€™s a work, just like you know it€™s a work. It€™s this fine balance you have to find between just staying the course and continue to cut your teeth every night by putting in good performances.€ That sounds like great advice. If you look at Reigns since then, he's had several incredible matches and the boos that he received a few months ago really aren't there before. Part of that is his improved work, but also WWE booking better so he's not out there saying nursery rhymes for promos either. The interview covered a lot of other interesting topics including his admiration for Steve Austin and how he never got to meet Randy Savage, which he regrets. The Rock's new film San Andreas hits theatres in the US on May 29.
