The WORST Moment From EVERY WWE SummerSlam

14. Fans Troll Triple H By Chanting “You Tapped Out” (2012)

Brock Lesnar's return the night after WrestleMania XXVIII in 2012 was a real shot in the arm WWE's product needed. He attacked John Cena, then worked one of the most violent gimmick bouts in recent memory at Extreme Rules. Lesnar lost, but he still carried a lot of menace. It wasn't long before Triple H wanted in on that act.

Brock's next match post-Cena loss to a win over Hunter at SummerSlam in August. The pair headlined the pay-per-view, went nearly 19 minutes, and they tried to tell the tale of a celebrated badass (Trips) doing everything he could to take down 'The Beast'. Ultimately, HHH would fail, and WWE wanted fans to feel sorry for him as he wallowed in defeat.

Erm...about that.

Post-match, an emotional Trips shed crocodile tears and flashed puppy dog eyes (any other animals coming along for this party?!) as he repeatedly said: "I'm sorry, guys" to the live crowd. Not reading the memo, those same folks booed and chanted things like: "You tapped out" at 'The Game'. It was pretty embarrassing to watch live, so much so that WWE sweetened the response afterwards.

Sure, there were some cheers, but this 'he's one of us' moment didn't really land as intended. Instead of SummerSlam going off the air with emotional questions hanging over Triple H's full-time run as a wrestler, people just wanted to see Brock destroy some more fools and continue his post-MMA return against other workers.

The Hunter story would rage on though, whether fans demanded it or not.
