The WrestleMania 33 Awards!
1. WrestleMania MVP: Jim Ross
Taking into account the terrible, senseless tragedy which has recently beset his life, that Good 'Ol JR was even present at all for WrestleMania showed remarkable courage in the face of unspeakably awful personal anguish.
The show's commentary had been flat throughout, and though Ross was a little muted himself - understandable given the circumstances - his voice immediately lifted the occasion, lending the closer a sense of gravitas Michael Cole has simply never managed to muster.
Quite frankly, Cole should have stepped aside for the legendary broadcaster, though again asking Ross to anchor the show's ending might have been a little too much. However, having the pair commentate in tandem highlighted the immense gulf in quality between the two. As JR offered insightful analysis to Roman's methodical actions, his timbre authoritative and genuine, Cole swiveled in his chair reading his notes, a gormless smirk plastered across his face. Like cheese and sh*te.
