This AEW Star's Wife Threatened To DIVORCE Him If He Signed With WWE

Tony Schiavone's wife Lois threatened to divorce him if he dared sign on the dotted line with WWE in 2019.

Mrs. Schiavone wasn't kidding around. She didn't think that a return to WWE was the right call for her husband, and said their 39-year marriage would grind to a halt if he went back as a producer. Tony revealed this startling moment (in his trademark comedic style) on AEW's Unrestricted podcast.

Tony actually called podding buddy Conrad Thompson first, and it was he who got the ball rolling on a conversation with Cody Rhodes. From there, Schiavone spoke with Tony Khan and found out that he had a home in AEW.

He would've gone back to WWE had that offer not popped up - he loves producing, and always liked the thought of working on Network documentaries, archive footage and things like that.

It wasn't to be, both because AEW became reality and because Lois put her foot down before that. She told Tony that she had a "bad vibe" about the company, and that he should knock back any deal they put in front of him.

Schiavone is glad of the ultimatum now.
