This Ex-WWE Star Shared A "Rom-Com" Moment With Shawn Michaels

Love was in the air for this former WWE star and NXT "idol" Shawn Michaels.

Eric Young loves Shawn Michaels.

The former WWE star, who currently plies his trade back in IMPACT Wrestling, told the 'Wrestling Perspective Podcast' about two happy "rom-com" memories he has of interacting with HBK. Both of them centred around a tribute article to Shawn that Young had penned for ESPN back in 2017.

That's worth reading, by the way.

Firstly, Eric recalled working a dark match for WWE. Backstage, Michaels pulled him aside and said that was the "best dark match [he'd] ever seen". That praise meant the world to Young, and gave him the confidence to continue pursuing his WWE goals.

Later, once he was established on NXT, Eric was surprised to see Michaels chasing him down the corridor. Suddenly, he remembered the article, and worried that his hero might think he was a "mark". Instead of being chastised for being a fan, Young fought back the tears as Shawn told him how much the article had meant to him.

He had read it, and he loved it.

Eric went on to joke to the pod's hosts that he'd love to star in a "rom-com" alongside Michaels someday. Quick! Someone call up WWE Studios.
