This WWE Wrestler Turned Down Being Managed By Scarlett

A current WWE star said 'thanks but no thanks' to being managed by Scarlett.

Scarlett was originally supposed to manage none other than Damian Priest on NXT TV before being tied to real-life husband Karrion Kross.

Fightful Select reports that Priest turned down the pitch because he didn't think it was a good fit for his current character on the brand. For reference, this happened at the tail-end of 2019, which was shortly before Kross inked a deal with the promotion in February 2020.

NXT staff believed the double act would become a big splash on the show if handled correctly, but it was never going to happen - Priest wasn't interested, and Scarlett's TV debut ended up being shelved for a little while longer until Karrion came along.

Fightful's WWE sources told them that everything worked out well in the end. Priest made the jump from NXT to the main roster in early-2021 and has settled as a key member of Judgment Day. Meanwhile, Scarlett managed Kross during his NXT Title reign before being stripped from his side when he was called up to Raw.

The couple have since returned to WWE as a heel force on SmackDown.
