Three championship matches have been added to next month's WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view, with Samoa Joe challenging Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship, Bayley versus Alexa Bliss for the SmackDown Women's Title, and Tony Nese attempting to reclaim the Cruiserweight belt against new champion Drew Gulak.

Samoa Joe attacked Kingston following his wins over Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens on Monday Night Raw and has subsequently been given a title show. Joe threw the WWE Champion into the video boards as Kofi celebrated on the ramp, then proceeded to give him a Uranage on the stage, and follow that up with the Coquina Clutch.

The contest almost became a triple threat match, but Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler in the main event of SmackDown Live to prevent him being added to the match.

Alexa Bliss was granted a rematch against Bayley for her SmackDown Women's Championship courtesy of Nikki Cross pinning Bayley in a non-title match last night and therefore earning her friend another title opportunity. Bliss and Bayley will no doubt be keen to showcase their talents and finally lay the ghost of their dreadful kendo stick match at Extreme Rules 2017 to rest.

Tony Nese won a number one contender's match on this week's 205 Live and will therefore challenge Drew Gulak for the Cruiserweight Championship at the pay-per-view on 14 July.

Five matches are currently confirmed for Extreme Rules, with the aforementioned contests joining Roman Reigns & The Undertaker versus Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre, and the Last Chance Winner Takes All mixed tag match between the teams of Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch and Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans, with the Universal Championship and the Raw Women's Championship on the line.
