TNA Just Took A BIG Swing At Bound For Glory 2026 (TNA News)

And NEW...

TNA Bound for Glory 2026 Leon Slater
TNA

Last night's TNA Bound for Glory closed out with Leon Slater making history.

In the main event, it was Slater defeating Nic Nemeth with his patented Swanton 450 to become the TNA World Champion, making the British high-flyer the youngest World Champion in TNA history and the youngest World Champion in the history of any major US promotion. Despite being a seven-year pro, Leon is still only 22 years of age, and he only turned 22 last month.

While Nic Nemeth has been a great fit at the top of the mountain for TNA, it's certainly a stark change in direction for the Anthem outlet to push forward with Leon Slater as its top dog, with Leon having constantly impressed during his past three years under contract with TNA. In fact, the Youngest in Charge also equaled a record earlier this year, having a 298-day run as the TNA X Division Champion that matched the record-setting reign of Austin Aries that ended in 2012.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Leon Slater had significant interest from WWE and AEW as and when he becomes a free agent, which likewise posed questions over whether TNA would put its World Title on him if there was a belief that he'd be heading elsewhere. So, purely speculation from your writer here, one has to imagine that TNA has faith that Leon will be sticking with the company for the foreseeable future, if he's not already quietly signed a contract extension.

Elsewhere at TNA Bound for Glory, several other titles changed hands, too, as Indi Hartwell defeated Xia Brookside for the TNA Knockouts Championship, Jason Hotch won out in the four-way for Mustafa Ali's TNA International Championship, Zoey Serrano and Shayna Baszler beat Allie and Kiera Hogan for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships, and new TNA Hall of Famer Amazing Red won a seven-way scramble to take home the vacant TNA X Division Championship.
