Third time could be a charm for this now former TNA man in WWE. Triple H is a fan!

Fightful Select reports that Eric Young has left TNA and could make a grand return to WWE soon.

The TNA legend has maintained a positive relationship with Triple H. Previously, EY had signed back on with WWE in November 2022, but left the promotion in April 2023 because he didn't want to work with Vince McMahon. Young was very outspoken about that at the time, but McMahon is no longer involved in WWE/TKO operations in 2026.

Eric has since clarified that he asked for his TNA release via social media, and he's shot down reports that he'd been working on a handshake deal with the organisation. That wasn't the case - Young had a "binding contract the entire time", but now he's free to work anywhere he pleases.

So, could a WWE comeback be on the cards? Fightful's write-up suggests there's a decent chance that'll happen: "WWE sources we spoke to expected him to go there, though the specific role was unclear". For the record, EY also had to sign an NDA when he left in April 2023.

None of the following was included in Fightful Select's write-up, so please take it as opinion. However, it's surely more likely that Young works as an agent/producer behind the scenes than as an active talent on Raw, SmackDown or NXT in front of the cameras at this point in his career.

Nobody's saying Eric couldn't work a few matches here or there, but he has a ton of knowledge to give backstage. This is definitely one to keep an eye on.
