TNA might be under new ownership in Anthem Sports & Entertainment, but it looks like their habit of signing ex-WWE talent is alive and well. According to PWInsider, TNA are still involved in contract discussions with former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, who has been wrestling as Alberto El Patron since leaving the company earlier this year.

Del Rio's name was heavily linked with TNA in the wake of his WWE departure, but nothing materialised. The current talks are said to be an extension of the original negotiations, but the two sides are yet to agree on a deal.

TNA began a four-day run of new television tapings last night, and, as per PWI, fans shouldn't expect any major roster upheaval at the moment. Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantel have returned to the company behind the scenes, but Anthem are still settling into their ownership, and no big debuts are expected on these shows.

Del Rio's name has barely left the headlines since his WWE departure, with his latest controversy coming through a reported brawl in Austria earlier this week. If he does sign with TNA, Alberto likely wouldn't make his debut until March at the earliest, which is when Impact Wrestling's next set of tapings will take place.
