TNA Slammiversary PPV Results
Jeff Jarrett returned and left with some new gold.
TNA Wrestling held their first pay-per-view event of 2015 on Sunday night in Orlando. While there wasn't a TNA World Title match on the show, a new "King of the Mountain" Champion was crowned with Jeff Jarrett winning the title in the main event. Here are the results from Slammiversary; X-Division Title: Tigre Uno d. Manik & DJ Zema. Tigre Uno used a corkscew senton for the win. Robbie E d. Jessie Godderz. They were a former heel tag team, Robbie turned face and got the win a reverse DDT. Street Fight: Bram d. Matt Morgan. Prior to the match, Morgan challenged Bram to a Street Fight. There was a point in the match where Bram tried to find an object, but didn't seem to find anything. After getting some chairs in the ring, Bram was able to hit a DDT on a chair for the win. Austin Aries d. Davey Richards. It was an even matchup that was very good especially towards the end. Bobby Roode, who is Aries' partner, tried to interfere except Eddie Edwards (Davey's partner) pulled him off the apron. Aries capitalized with a rollup to win. After the match, Aries said their tag title match on Wednesday's Impact will be a 30 minute Ironman match. That match was already taped. This was Aries' last match in TNA because his contract expired and he's not expected back although in TNA you never really know. Awesome Kong & Brooke d. Taryn Terrell, Marti & Jade. Despite the disadvantage, the face team of Kong and Brooke beat the heels when Brooke hit a top rope X-Factor on Jade and pinned her. This week on Impact it's Taryn defending the Knockouts Title against Brooke and Kong. It's already been taped if you want to know the result. Prior to his match against James Storm, Magnus did a promo where he said basically it was the last TNA match for both guys. It's pretty rare to hear something like that in a promo. It was their last physical match, but they did tape stuff that will air on TV in the next month. Unsanctioned Match: James Storm d. Magnus. There were a lot of big spots with Magnus going through a table after missing an elbow drop and then giving Storm a superplex on a guard rail in the ring. The finish saw them each grab a beer bottle, hit the other guy over the head and the heel Storm fell on top for the win. Both guys did a bit of a salute to the crowd after it was over. There were audio problem for several minutes where the announcers weren't heard. It was pretty bad to see that on a live show, but they fixed it after a few minutes. Ethan Carter III & Tyrus d. Mr. Anderson & Bobby Lashley. It was a basic tag match won by the heel team of EC3 and Tyrus with EC3 getting the pin. EC3 is the number one contender to Kurt Angle's World Title. Angle wasn't even on this show. That match has already been taped too. Jeff Jarrett won the King of the Mountain Title in a King of the Mountain match. It was against Drew Galloway, Bobby Roode, Eric Young and Matt Hardy. The new title is the same thing as their old TV/Global/Legends Title. It isn't a new match, but it's been five years since the last time they did it and it was a reminder that the stipulation is bizarre as a reverse ladder match. At one point, Young nailed Jarrett with a piledriver on top of a ladder that was bridged between the ring and the guard rail. Within a few minutes, Jarrett came back and won the match even though he's the oldest guy in the match. After the match, the announcers wondered if Jarrett is going to take the title to Global Force Wrestling or stay in TNA. It sounds like there will be an angle between GFW and TNA although the details of that are not known at this time. The PPV capped off five straight days of TNA events that featured a "live" show on Wednesday and then three days of tapings that will air as Impact episodes through all of July and into August.
