TNA Tag Team Champion Suffers Broken Leg

Davey Richards injured during house show.

The Wolves Davey Richards Eddie Edwards Despite the wary nature of TNA as of late, the company continues to trek on. The promotion is currently in the midst of a tour of live events throughout the country. On August 15th, TNA stopped in Indiana, Pennsylvania with an estimated crowd of 300 to 400 in attendance. The event saw Sanada overcome DJ Z in the opening contest. Other bouts on the card saw Madison Rayne defeat Angelina Love, James Storm triumph over Gunner, and Bobby Roode plant Magnus with a Roode Bomb for the three count. The main event featured current TNA Tag Team Champions The Wolves facing off with the team of Devon and Mr. Anderson. Early in the contest something went wrong, as Davey Richards was obviously injured. He was taken to the back, leaving his partner Eddie Edwards to go it alone. That was until Abyss was added to the contest as Eddie's partner. Ethan Carter III later came out and attacked abyss, but Edwards was still able to pick up the victory over Devon and Anderson. The real story, however, was what happened in the back. Richards was reportedly rushed to a local hospital. While there it was determined that he had suffered a broken fibula -- the small bone in the shin, next to the tibia. The tag champ tweeted about the injury, apologizing to the fans in Indiana, as well as to the fans in Washington, PA and Hagerstown, Maryland -- the locations for the August 16th and 17th house shows. He further confirmed the leg break and that he will be out of action "for a bit" -- an exact timeline for his absence and recovery has not been made public yet. Davey further tweeted the following, thanking both the fans and TNA for their support. Davey Richards Tweet While it remains to be seen how long Davey Richards will be out of action and exactly when he will make his return, the TNA star seems to be taking the news well. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see how TNA decides to move forward without one half of their tag team champions. Will the Wolves be stripped of their titles? Perhaps, Eddie Edwards will go it alone for awhile or even potentially find a replacement partner in Davey's absence. Only time will tell what will happen, but everyone is surely wishing for a healthy and speedy recovery for Davey Richards. Do you think the Wolves will be stripped of their titles?
