TNT Championship Ladder Match Set For Next Week's AEW Dynamite

Heelish Sammy Guevara to defend newly won title against former champ Scorpio Sky.

Sammy Guevara wasted little time in riling up fans and rustling up a challenger for his newly won TNT Championship Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite.

The three-time champ and girlfriend Tay Conti soaked in the boos from the crowd, clearly leaning into the fan hatred and playing more of a heel role. On the flip side, Scorpio Sky played his part straight as the former champ demanding a rematch, though Men of the Year partner Ethan Page was more direct, giving Sammy the choice of a rematch or a beatdown.

Guevara accepted the challenge on one condition: that he and Tay get a mixed tag match with some combination of Men of the Year and/or American Top Team. No word on who will team with Paige VanZant as of yet, or when that match will take place.

However, the TNT Championship rematch will take place next week on Dynamite, and Sammy declared that it would be a ladder match.

One interesting note: Before Sky walked out to challenge Guevara, he interrupted former SCU tag partner Frankie Kazarian backstage, just as Frankie was about to issue his own challenge to Sammy. Scorpio pleaded to get the next shot at Guevara, then promised to give Kazarian the first title bout should he win. It was a straightforward, respectful conversation that didn't have any heelish undertones.
