Tommaso Ciampa Set For NXT Return This Wednesday

Tommaso Ciampa will return to NXT television this Wednesday.

'Blackheart' has been absent from the USA Network since his technical submission defeat to Karrion Kross at this past June's NXT TakeOver: In Your House. After the match, which ended with Ciampa passing out to Kross' Kross Jacket, the defeated party was questioned about his mental state. He ignored the interviewer, and has since been missing from action.

It was announced during last night's NXT TakeOver XXX that Ciampa will reappear this week. The returnee cut a short promo during an interstitial video package, claiming: "There is special. And then there is Tomasso Ciampa."

There's currently no news on WWE's plans for the returning star, though a resumption of hostilities with Kross - who picked up Keith Lee's NXT Championship last night - seems on the cards. Such plans are of course contingent on the extent of the injury suffered by Kross during said victory; he's set to undergo an MRI for a separated shoulder this Monday.
