WWE announced that Toni Storm is "coming soon" on Friday's episode of SmackDown.

The former NXT UK and NXT star's arrival is understood to be imminent, but the company didn't slap a definitive date on Storm's blue brand debut. The 2018 Mae Young Classic winner and ex-NXT UK Women's Champion will 100% become the latest addition to SmackDown's female ranks though.

She joins both Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart - those women debuted as a brand new tag-team on Friday night by defeating Natalya and Tamina in a non-title bout. It's promising for Toni that she's being promoted as a singles star instead.

SmackDown needed some new female recruits anyway. The show only had a measly seven active women before Shotzi and Tegan showed up this week. Adding Storm to the mix should help ease the pain of Bayley's nine month injury layoff due to an ACL tear too.

Someone fresh needed to make a splash in this division, so why not Toni?

Stay tuned for breaking updates about exactly when Storm will make her debut on Friday nights. This could be a lot of fun if WWE play their cards right.
