Toni Storm has reportedly been released by WWE this evening.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful broke the news on Twitter - Sapp added that he doesn't have any "additional details" quite yet, but that he's working on it. All the website knows for sure is that Storm has left the company.

Her last televised WWE match was a loss to Charlotte Flair on this past Friday's episode of SmackDown. Previously, fans online had been disgruntled about the content of Storm's feud with Flair; the story involved loads of comedy touches, including Charlotte smashing cream pies into Toni's face.

This, rather regrettably, led Storm to dub herself "2 Pies Toni" on TV.

Away from the cameras, Toni last wrestled for the promotion on Tuesday's house show in Washington. There, she lost a SmackDown Women's Title three way involving Flair and recent on-screen pal Sasha Banks.

Stay tuned for more news on this when it breaks. Sapp's tweets suggest he plans to find out exactly why Storm was let go. It'll be interesting to learn whether or not Toni requested her release or if WWE made the call.
