Top AEW Star Injured At Full Gear?

AEW could be without this big name for the foreseeable future.

Cody had a bad, bad night at AEW Full Gear this past weekend. His loss to AEW World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho means he can never challenge for the belt again, with his "best friend" MJF throwing in the towel on his behalf, and topping it all off was MJF's decision to turn on 'The American Nightmare' after the defeat.

Now, it looks like Cody's kayfabe misfortune has been compounded by a real-life injury.

Anyone who watched the Jericho match would've seen the moment Cody leapt through the ropes to dive at 'The Alpha,' only to faceplant on the elevated ramp, busting his head open. Said cut required eight stitches after the clash, according to Dave Meltzer in a Figure Four Online update.

Meltzer also writes that Cody suffered a rib separation on the dive and isn't currently cleared to compete, though his ailments aren't thought to be particularly serious. Still, a spell on the sidelines seems likely.

On top of this, Joey Janela's injury status was the subject of concern when doctors rushed him after his Full Gear match with Shawn Spears, though AEW President Tony Khan claimed 'The Bad Boy' would be "absolutely fine" in his post-show media scrum.
