Top AEW Star Injured, Set For Indefinite Absence

This top guy reveals injury suffered at AEW Dynasty.

Dax Harwood

Having been a key part of the ongoing Team AEW vs. The Elite story in recent weeks, Dax Harwood is dealing with an injury issue that will seemingly see both he and Cash Wheeler off AEW TV for the foreseeable future.

Dax took to X to reveal this news, detailing how this injury occurred at AEW Dynasty - where FTR took on The Young Bucks - as Harwood gave Matt Jackson a piledriver on a ladder. This caused Dax to hurt his lower back, which in turn led to a "severe hematoma" on his back.

Harwood kept this hidden from AEW management and the company's medical team, for which he has apologised. As he put it, Dax thought he could tough it out and work through these issues. This changed on Saturday after FTR took on the Blackpool Combat Club's Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta in an excellent match, where Dax had a hematoma as big as a football when he got to the back. There, he informed Dr. Sampson of these issues, and yesterday Dax had an x-ray on his back and pelvis.

Harwood doesn't know how long he'll be out of action for, but he did say how he and Cash will be off TV "for a while" as he heals up. The 39-year-old also mentioned how Sampson told him that these issues could've forced Dax into early retirement if he didn't stop to get them addressed.
