Top AEW Star Out Of Action After Grand Slam Mexico (AEW News)

AEW's Andrade El Idolo reveals he'll be out of action for a "few days or weeks".

Having recently earned the number one spot in All In's Casino Gauntlet, AEW's Andrade El Idolo looks set for a short spell on the sidelines ahead of the company's big Wembley Stadium return.

Taking to X, the AEW National Champion revealed that he hadn't been feeling well since Grand Slam Mexico last week, that he's been checked out by doctors, and that he'll have to miss "a few days or weeks".

For El Idolo, this is obviously a major blow, coming at a time when he's as popular as he's ever been in AEW, putting on great matches, showing a whole bunch of personality, and being a genuine highlight of weekly programming. However, from Andrade's X post, it sounds as if whatever is keeping him out of action is hopefully nothing too serious, as indicated by the return timeframe given by the 36-year-old.

As for AEW All In, that takes place on Sunday, August 30th, with Andrade El Idolo the first person confirmed to be in the Casino Gauntlet, where the winner of that match earns themselves a future shot at the AEW World Championship. That belt is currently held by Kenny Omega, and the Best Bout Machine puts it on the line against Will Ospreay at All In.

Andrade earned his spot in the Casino Gauntlet on the Grand Slam Mexico episode of Dynamite, defeating Tommaso Ciampa and Komander to cement his Wembley position. That win was ruined by the returning MJF, though, who attacked El Idolo post-match and took back the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
