Top AEW Star Returning After 3 Month Absence

Fans haven't seen this wrestler on AEW screens since Revolution in March.

Fightful Select is reporting that Hangman Page will be returning to AEW programming sooner rather than later. There's no exact time frame on when he'll show up, but it's expected to be soon.

For reference, Hangman has been out of action since the Revolution pay-per-view in March. There, he lost out in a three-way for the AEW World Title (also featuring then-champ Samoa Joe and current incumbent Swerve Strickland) before taking some time off.

It's understood that sabbatical was pre-agreed with AEW chief Tony Khan. Page wasn't injured, but took a break for personal reasons. This was all thrashed out well in advance, so Khan and other company creative types were fully-prepared to lose Hangman for a few months.

Now, three months on, he's set to launch a comeback. Sources did note that there's no concrete plan quite yet for Page creatively; however, he's likely to continue playing a heel role on TV going forwards into the second half of 2024.

It'll be interesting to see if Hangman interacts with his old Elite cohorts again, or if he'll move onto something completely different. It certainly wouldn't be a shocker if Khan reignites old issues with Swerve either.
