Tony Khan dropped some hints that Bill Goldberg could debut as a mystery partner for Sting and Darby Allin at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 this coming weekend.

Khan told reporters during an AEW media call that he's unsure if Goldberg would be a great fit for that spot due to the show's gimmick, but then seemed to go back on himself by saying "Goldberg has gone over and competed in New Japan too".

Interesting.

It's worth noting that Darby also told Chris Jericho on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite that he's "made a lot of enemies over the years". Goldberg would qualify for that, because he and Jericho clashed during their time together in WWE years ago.

The plot thickens, basically, and Tony is keen to stir it up. He knows the value of teasing people before the reveal on Saturday's episode of Collision. Will it be Goldberg? It's a stretch, but stranger things have definitely happened in pro wrestling. Fans shouldn't rule anything out.

Khan added that he's had several "nice talks" with Goldberg about potentially doing something AEW-related in the future. Watch this space!
