IMPACT Wrestling's W. Morrissey recently became a free agent.

This is according to Fightful Select, who had previously been told by the former Big Cass that his IMPACT contract was due to expire at the end of October. The 35-year-old said at the time that he wanted to keep working for the promotion, however, and the two parties have entered negotiations over a new deal.

Fightful's sources state that Morrissey is looking for a "big money deal" relative to the company's usual standards. The justification for this would be that he has proven himself to management, inside the ring and out.

Morrissey has been with IMPACT since Rebellion 2021 on 25 April, where he replaced the injured Eric Young for Violent by Design's bout with Chris Sabin, Eddie Edwards, James Storm, and Willie Mack. He has enjoyed considerable success since then, losing only two singles matches throughout his run - both to Eddie Edwards with street fight/hardcore stipulations attached.

This past weekend's Turning Point 2021 live show hosted Morrissey's latest IMPACT match, as he defeated Matt Cardona in around nine minutes. His next appearance is yet to be confirmed.
