Top Japanese Tag Team Headed To WWE NXT

The Mighty Don't Kneel finally ready to sign with WWE.

Nearly nine months after they first participated in a WWE tryout, two-time Pro Wrestling NOAH GHC Tag Team Champions The Mighty Don't Kneel (Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls) are about to join NXT. Haste and Nicholls began working as a tag team in their native Australia, then were signed to NOAH in 2011 after impressing officials in a tryout match against one another. The two first won the GHC Tag Team TItles in 2013, defeating Toru Yano and Takashi Iizuka en route to being named Tokyo Sports' tag team of the year. They would go on to feud with Maybach Taniguchi and Takeshi Morishima and Dangan Yankees, capturing another championship in the process. In June of 2015, TMDK participated in a WWE tryout camp and were offered contracts shortly thereafter. Haste, who had been working on an injured knee, got some much-needed surgery with the understanding that the team would join NXT at the end of the year. Still, nothing had materialized as of January. Finally, there has been some news regarding Haste and Nicholls's next move. Despite the fact that TMDK wrestled their farewell matches with NOAH in June, the team has been announced as competing in one last tour - "TMDK Departure to the World," running from March 2 to March 10. After this final run of shows is completed, the team will presumably head to the U.S. and NXT.
