An interestingly-timed photograph with one of AEW's top stars has naturally sparked fresh speculation on Edge potentially jumping ship from WWE to the Tony Khan-helmed promotion.
In an act that doesn't necessarily mean anything, but has nonetheless got people talking, AEW star Dax Harwood posted a photo with Edge and his wife/fellow WWE legend Beth Phoenix to X on Thursday night.
This comes following talk that Edge may either be on his way out of WWE imminently or retiring from wrestling altogether. The 49-year-old has confirmed that tonight's SmackDown match with Sheamus in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is the last on his current contract, while his trainer has all but confirmed he is set to depart.
If Edge ends up leaving WWE but staying in wrestling, AEW speculation is natural. Khan's company is Endeavor's biggest competition and houses several wrestlers Edge has worked with in the past. Most notable of all is Christian Cage, who has been reborn as an onscreen character and in-ring competitor in AEW, having broken out in the wrestling mainstream through his tag team with his real-life best friend during the Attitude Era.
More on the Edge situation as it develops.
