The light heavyweight is almost 35 years old and is currently recovering from major knee surgery. He had already talked about retirement, although the UFC still expect him to return to action in the fall of 2014. He is a fantastic athlete with a solid wrestling background, although making the transition to pro wrestling is no easy transition. Evans is thinking about the move because he realises his MMA days are pretty much over. Having witnessed what guys like Lesnar and Shamrock achieved in WWE, the idea of transitioning is appealing, it is a chance to make big money beyond the young mans game of UFC. "I don€™t know that he€™s directly spoken to WWE, but he was talking to people in the pro wrestling business this weekend about the idea." Dave Meltzer writes. However, Evans shouldn't hold his breath over his chances of making it. Vince McMahon isn't keen of UFC stars because they are used to big payoffs and light travelling schedules. WWE in contrast is a travel intensive job which doesn't always pay great money after you've totted up expenses. Evans' other issue is that he is too old and physically worn, fake fighting is harder than it looks. By the time he has got trained up it could be too late to make any real impact, and his name value isn't exactly massive outside of UFC anyway. Vince McMahon in particular knows nothing about the modern MMA scene, he will have absolutely no idea of who Rashad Evans is. Despite Evans' hopes, this transition from UFC to WWE seems doubtful.
