Top WWE Tag Team LEAVING In April?
This is what happens when you marginalise your tag division.
The advent of All Elite Wrestling has forced WWE's hand when it comes to contract negotiations, and the company have been hard at work attempting to tie down any talents whose deals expire within the next 1-2 years. Now, it looks like they could be on the verge of losing one of their most decorated tag teams.
Per Fightful.com, there is now "some concern" within the company that The Usos will decide against re-signing with the promotion when their current contracts run out, and unlike The Revival, they won't need to wait until 2020.
Why? Because PW Insider claim that Jimmy and Jey are free agents at the end of April.
As with all other contract reports in this crazy environment, it's best to apply a hint of cynicism here, as WWE could yet sweep in with a big-money offer to retain the talented duo. Still, it's easy to see why The Usos might be thinking about exploring their options. They're an all-time great WWE tag team, but their division has been so marginalised that they're barely involved in featured programmes any more.
Cody and The Young Bucks claim that AEW will push tag wrestling stronger than anyone. Perhaps The Usos will be tempted...
