Tough Enough's Josh Bredl Not Among Recent WWE Releases
Bredl remains, but another NXT talent has left the company.
It was reported earlier this week that former Tough Enough winner Josh Bredl had left WWE as part of the company's latest round of talent releases. As per a new report by PWInsider, however, this has been confirmed as incorrect, and Bredl remains under contract.
Bredl wrestles as Bronson Matthews, and scored a $250,000, one-year deal for his success on WWE's reality show. He wrestled his first match in March 2016, but a severe concussion has restricted him to just five NXT house show appearances thus far, with his last match coming last July. His fellow 2015 Tough Enough winner, Sara Lee, was released from her WWE contract in October.
Though Bredl remains at the Performance Center, WWE did let go of another NXT trainee yesterday. According to PWInsider, Theophilus Agbi has departed the company without making a single in-ring appearance. The former collegiate wrestler joined WWE in the same class as Aleister Black, Roderick Strong, and Killian Dain last fall, but lasted just six months in developmental.
Agbi joins Tajiri, Simon Gotch, and fellow NXT talents Chris Atkins and Andrea D'Marco among WWE's recent releases.
