Triple H Is WWE's "In Case Of Emergency Guy"

Vince McMahon views Triple H as a last resort when WWE really need it.

Triple H has described himself as Vince McMahon's "in case of emergency guy".

WWE's Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development has pretty much retired as a full-timer, but he told 'The Bump' that his father-in-law views him as an emergency solution if the company needs it.

They did need it on Monday's episode of Raw - WWE Champ Drew McIntyre tested positive for COVID-19, which meant the company was shorthanded heading into the broadcast. That's when Vince 'broke the glass' and pulled Trips (the wrestler) off the wall to help out.

Hunter's actual reaction to this was, "Oh God".

He's finding it harder and harder to work these days, and said that's because the gaps between matches are getting longer and longer. On Raw, WWE had him skirmish with Randy Orton. It wasn't exactly a full-blown match as such, but it was still physical enough that Trips had to be prepared.

The brawl was Triple H's first in-ring involvement since losing to Orton at Super ShowDown way back in June 2019. Who knows how long it'll be until McMahon's pulls him in short-notice to work again?
