Triple H Missing From This Week's WWE TV Tapings?

WWE's NXT chief was missing from his usual backstage role at this week's tapings.

Triple H was not backstage for this week's WWE television tapings.

Speaking on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that as well as missing Wednesday's episode of NXT at the Capitol Wrestling Center, the WWE Executive Vice President and executive producer wasn't around for Raw at the ThunderDome either.

There is currently no word on why, exactly, Triple H wasn't at these shows.

It should be stressed that there is no indication that Hunter's absence is a result of the recent COVID-19 outbreak within NXT, which forced WWE to rip up its card for this Wednesday's show, so widespread were the black and gold brand's absences.

Whether or not Triple H will return for tonight's episode of SmackDown or Sunday's Fastlane 2021 pay-per-view remains to be seen.

Triple H's NXT is in an interesting position at the moment. Most signs point towards the show switching to Tuesday nights on USA Network, thus ending the Wednesday Night Wars, though this is dependent on television rights negotiations between NBC (USA's parent company) and the NHL. NXT last finished above AEW Dynamite in the cable rankings back in December 2019.
