Nick Aldis debuted as the brand new General Manager of SmackDown on Friday night's latest episode of blue brand telly.

Triple H's pre-advertised announcement turned out to be Adam Pearce working Mondays exclusively as Raw GM. Then, after being interrupted by an irate Dominik Mysterio (who could barely get a word in due to now-customary boos from the live crowd), 'The Game' revealed that Aldis would now call the shots on FOX.

Rather regrettably, the former TNA and NWA star didn't exactly receive a booming response from fans there live. In fact, the reaction was fairly muted overall. Being fair, Aldis wasn't handed any music, and Trips slipped in his announcement whilst people were busy jeering 'Dirty Dom'.

Aldis did show poise during several segments involving top stars like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Charlotte Flair though. He's well-spoken, and has a gentlemanly quality that should lend itself to excelling as SmackDown GM.

At one point, Nick turned to Pearce and said he was looking forward to some competition between both major brands. That might be a teaser for more Raw vs. SmackDown fare come Survivor Series in November.
