Triple H's WWE Characters Ranked - From Worst To Best
6. The Conquering Hero
Triple H was arguably the top performer - and most hated heel - in WWE when he tore his quad in 2001, which put him on the shelf for more than half a year. He missed the whole Invasion angle (which, in retrospect, he probably doesn't mind too much), finally coming back at the beginning of 2002.
Even though there was no official turn, fans were beyond excited to see Triple H return. He made his comeback on Raw in Madison Square Garden, getting an incredible pop and cementing him as a babyface. From there, the sky was the limit for HHH - in a matter of months, he won the Royal Rumble, dumped his wife, and captured the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania.
Still, there was something missing. HHH did his best work as a heel, and it was clear that the man behind the gimmick preferred working as a bad guy. After a half-year of babyface pops and sub-par matches (those bouts seemed to be hurt by the 25 pounds of muscle HHH mysteriously put on during his absence), he turned on Shawn Michaels to become a heel again.
